The tribute of  this Oklahoma Violin is an official Centennial project.
The violin is inspired by Native American culture and is called
"Spirit of Oklahoma”.
All design and work on the violin was done by Lukas Wronski honoring
the statehood celebration of Oklahoma's first 100 years.
Statehood Day is November 16, 2007, and will begin with historical
reenactments in Guthrie, the state's first capitol.
The Centennial violin project will be displayed in Doublestop
fiddle shop in Downtown Guthrie.

The violin has some important symbolism.
- The composition of the upper line recognizes the flag of Oklahoma with a morning star.
It can also be recognized as the Sun--life giver, warmth, growth, and all that is good and
happy.
- On the top and back of violin plate is the shape of an eagle eye. An eagle is a very
significant symbol from the past time. The eagle is held to represent a noble nature with
its strength and aristocratic appearance.
For ancient kings of Persia, Babylon, and Romanian legions it has been the official ensign
of those empires. Other empires and nations such as Germany, Poland, France, etc. have
also adopted the eagle as their symbol. As a Christian symbol, an eagle represents
.................
salvation, redemption and resurrection.

The eagle represents spiritual protection and brings strength, courage, wisdom,
illumination of spirit, healing, and creation of magic. The eagle also symbolizes
the United States and is a very important symbol of Native Americans. They say:
“The Eagle is the brother who flies the highest and the closest to the Creator.
His vision, wisdom courage are gifts that we each possess." Small beads of
turquoise  replace the traditional wooden purfling all around the edge of the violin.
This stone is very symbolic for Native Americans; it represents protection, power
and good energy.   The head of the violin create a sculpture of an Indian head,
indicating a guardian or warrior, a symbol of Native Americans' spirit. The form
of the resonance holes on the front of the violin brings to mind the woodpecker
bird which is one of the most nurturing of all the Native Americans' animal symbols.
